Responsibilities:
The Production Control position will act as a direct source of information on material positions for the Supervisor and Operations Manager. Key actions include expediting and monitoring of material flow to meet Master Production Schedule requirements (MPS), monitoring inventory levels for Work-In-Process (WIP) and raw material, and alerting the factory support team on issues concerning holds or issues on materials.
Manage our material supply by monitoring and addressing issues with supplier delivery performance
Play leading role in tracking new products for material availability
Address changes in MPS and supply change during product recovery to customer orders/ MPS
Release manufacturing orders to the production floor
Monitor WIP levels and alert support team when there are delays or product build-ups
Assist in the material management during a quality purge
Work directly with supervisors and Work Flow Coaches (Leads) to provide direction on material availability for production scheduling
Mentor material handlers for material control processes and analysis
Act as a back up for material handlers as needed
Prepare information weekly on recovery schedules to be communicated to the customer service representatives (CSRs)
Provide information and prepare production commitments for unit exits with the support of the factory supervisor
Identify and expedite supplier material shortages to satisfy the production schedule.
Provide root cause analysis of shortages
Externally expedite material and order status information from the sourcing buyers and communicate information to the production schedule
Manage inventory to appropriate levels, based on defined goals
Work with Buyers to reschedule supplier deliveries to achieve inventory goals.
Act as liaison between suppliers and the factory
Provide daily reports on material status: gating items, CMA units, critical shortages, effects of QA purges, etc

The Production Control position will act as a direct source of information on material positions for the Supervisor and Operations Manager. Key actions include expediting and monitoring of material flow to meet Master Production Schedule requirements (MPS), monitoring inventory levels for Work-In-Process (WIP) and raw material, and alerting the factory support team on issues concerning holds or issues on materials.
Manage our material supply by monitoring and addressing issues with supplier delivery performance
Play leading role in tracking new products for material availability
Address changes in MPS and supply change during product recovery to customer orders/ MPS
Release manufacturing orders to the production floor
Monitor WIP levels and alert support team when there are delays or product build-ups
Assist in the material management during a quality purge
Work directly with supervisors and Work Flow Coaches (Leads) to provide direction on material availability for production scheduling
Mentor material handlers for material control processes and analysis
Act as a back up for material handlers as needed
Prepare information weekly on recovery schedules to be communicated to the customer service representatives (CSRs)
Provide information and prepare production commitments for unit exits with the support of the factory supervisor
Identify and expedite supplier material shortages to satisfy the production schedule.
Provide root cause analysis of shortages
Externally expedite material and order status information from the sourcing buyers and communicate information to the production schedule
Manage inventory to appropriate levels, based on defined goals
Work with Buyers to reschedule supplier deliveries to achieve inventory goals.
Act as liaison between suppliers and the factory
Provide daily reports on material status: gating items, CMA units, critical shortages, effects of QA purges, etc

Requirements:
4 year college degree preferred
6-8 years procurement/ materials experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated record of inventory reduction/ control and supply management
Working knowledge of MRPII systems and processes
Certification through NAPM (C.P.M.) & APICS (CPIM) desired
WebPlan programming experience desired
Proficiency with UNIS, Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of excel required.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
